The Trust granted $10,000 in December 2023 towards hosting a Harmony Week event in March 2024.
At the Learning and Caring Group, Kingston East Neighbourhood Group (KENG) provide a safe space for the women from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds who are survivors of war, domestic and family violence and trauma to heal, learn, share and thrive. KENG also encourage teamwork and engagement in running events and programs and Harmony Week will be run by the participants and is a great opportunity for them to develop their confidence and community engagements. This will be an event in partnership with Queensland Program of Assistance to the Survivors of Torture and Trauma (QPASTT) and Kingston East Neighbourhood Group

KENG has been providing programs and services to the Logan community for over 38 years. KENG operates from a community based neighbourhood centre and delivers a broad range of services across the lifespan including crisis accommodation, emergency relief, NILS, an occasional childcare centre, Communities for Children, Home Interaction Parenting Program for Parents & Youngsters (HIPPY), Early Years Place, Older Person s Action Program, Community Development, Family Support, Relationship and personal counselling, Skilling Queenslanders for Work & therapeutic activities. KENG also continues to develop activities that encourage participation and engagement, equip community members with relevant skills and experiences that are life-enriching, and motivate them to improve their lives through the application of KENG’s core values around empowerment, collaboration, inclusiveness, innovation, quality and integrity.
